One pressing concern we all have is “how do we improve our results and get the best from the actions that we take”, be it in our personal lives, Career or business.
Compared to where you are presently, You have goals that you want to achieve, results that you want to see. You want to get fit and live an active life. You want to improve your finances. You want to follow your passion and live in peace.
You may also want to improve the sales of your business, or optimize your organizational activities.
Just like you, there are thousands and millions of people who want to change a particular behaviour, but don’t know how to.
It is necessary to know that every result you have presently is an outcome of the processes you have put in so far. Processes that can also be called behaviours. So your results can only be improved by improving your behaviour.
The question is, are you satisfied with the present results you have seen so far in the most important areas of your life?
If Yes, peace be to you. If no, these are some things you must do to change any behaviour.
1. Change your Values and Beliefs:
Your present behavioural process is a mirror reflection of what you believe and value. Your belief about the behaviour empowers you to keep acting in that way. What are somethings new beliefs you need to develop about this present behaviour for you to change it?
2. Set up your environment to win:
It’s amazing how people want to forget an experience, but create a physical environment that always reminds them of the experience. Or those who want to stop eating a particular food, but have their fridge stocked with that food. If you want to change a behavior, you need the right environment that supports this results you seek.
Ask, How can I alter my present physical environment to change the present behaviour?
For every behaviour you exhibit, there are a group of people who permit you to behave in that way. It’s also possible that you haven’t explored the people who can help you develop the new behaviour. You will need to spend less time with people who encourage your present behavior and become accountable to people who can support your new behaviour.
Once you set yourself on this new path and stick to it consistently, you have set up yourself to win. In the long run, our results can only be changed by the behaviour we exhibit. You can change any behaviour that you want to.
